Memory & personalization
Esan can remember useful context so you don't repeat yourself. Memory is opt-in, visible, and fully under your control.
Two kinds of memory
- Profile — the basics you set once: how to address you, what you do, a little about you, and any standing instructions ("always answer in Spanish", "prefer concise summaries"). Esan keeps these in mind across every chat.
- Memories — specific things worth remembering that come up while you work ("my company sells to dentists", "I report to the CFO"). Esan suggests these as you go; you decide what sticks.
Manage it in Settings
Open Settings → Personalization:
- Master switch. Turn memory on or off entirely. With it off, Esan uses only what's in the current conversation.
- Profile fields. Edit your name, occupation, about-you, and custom instructions at any time.
- Memories list. Review everything Esan has remembered and delete anything you don't want kept.
How it's used
When memory is on, Esan brings in only the context that's relevant to the task at hand — so it feels like talking to someone who knows you, without dragging your whole history into every reply.
Specialists have their own memory
Each specialist keeps a separate pool of memories, so your researcher's context stays with your researcher. Manage a specialist's memories from its own settings.
Your control
- Memory is off until you allow it, and you can switch it off any time.
- You can delete any memory individually, or clear them all.
- Deleting your account removes your memory along with everything else (see Account & data).
